As the 2020s get underway, there is plenty happening at Focused Nutrition. We’ll be bringing news of an exciting new product launch very soon, and will also be providing updates and news on several charity and community events that we are happy and proud to support.
In keeping with this time of renewal, we’ve been able to usher in the new decade with a new look. The factory and bakery were treated to a revamp and spruce up at the end of 2019, and the results are a real transformation.
SALSA standard certification
As well as making the facility a more cheerful and inspiring place to work, the redecorations and upgrades carried out will bring Focused Nutrition a step closer to SALSA certification. This is something we have been striving towards for some time. SALSA stands for Safe and Local Supplier Approval and is a non-profit making food safety standard that has been created for food experts and by food experts.
The SALSA standard goes beyond the basic legal requirements for food producers in regard to food safety, labelling and so on. On top of these important considerations, it also sets out the best practices within the industry to which responsible organisations should strive. To be certified under the scheme, therefore, businesses need to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and going the extra mile at every stage of the manufacture and supply process.
Amazing work by an amazing team
These are principles that lie at the heart of Focused Nutrition’s ethos, and are ones that we are keen to share with our business partners, especially in our contract manufacturing activities. Demonstrating SALSA compliance will be an important step forward for the business. Mentoring sessions and the necessary audit processes will take place over the coming months to make the SALSA certification a reality during 2020.
None of the incredible progress we’ve made would be possible without the dedication shown by the entire team at Focused Nutrition throughout 2019. Their hard work and commitment has often gone way above and beyond the call of duty, and this is what has provided the springboard to take the business forward to greater things over the coming months and years.
Just one example of this is the amazing work carried out by Gemma, who spent an entire day up on a 20-foot scaffold stencilling, sketching and painting to produce our very own mural. She’s an incredibly talented artist and her unique creation is something that staff and visitors will admire for years to come.
Exciting times to come
We’ve seen great things happen over the past 12 months and 2020 is set to be an even more exciting year. Growth, development and continuous improvement will be the watchwords, so keep an eye on our blog pages for further updates over the coming months.
We wish staff, partners and customers a successful year and decade as we move forward together into the roaring 20s!
